Program Overview
What The Program Did
Samvardhan is a 6-month, design-focused accelerator program for hardware healthcare startups, co-created by PIEDS (BITS Pilani) and Studio Carbon. It aims to move medical prototypes to market-ready products, providing ₹10 Lakhs in funding, 100+ hours of design consultations, intensive design sprint at Studio Carbon's Gandhinagar office and demo day.
Program Structure
- Duration: 6 months.
- Eligibility:Medical Device Startups
- Selection Criteria:
- Prototype ready
- Revenue potential required.
- Cohort Size: 2-4 startups, each receiving INR 10 lakhs.
- Equity Terms: 2% equity for funding (1% each to Studio Carbon and PIEDS).
- Metrics: Launch of Improved Product Version
Outcomes & Impact:
- Capital deployed: ₹80 Lakhs across 8 startups
- Follow-on capital raised by cohort:
- Jobs created: 30+
- Patents filed: 2 patents filed, 6 under process
- Revenue generated by portfolio: ~₹7 Lakhs
